The Kathmandu valley has a rich history of culture, arts, and architecture. On this tour, we stroll around Thamel - the business hub of Kathmandu where you are likely to see people from different countries and then to the outskirts of Kathmandu valley - Khokana and Bungamati villages – a typical village with settlements of the people with Newari Origin.

Next is the city of lakes – Pokhara, a very beautiful city with natural caves, lakes and surrounded by picturesque views of Annapurna ranges and Mt Machhapuchre (Fishtail). 

Chitwan is the home to the rare wilderness of Nepal and is the first national park, Chitwan National park – a UNESCO heritage site spreading over 930 sq km in the vast lowlands of South-Central Nepal famed for unbeaten adventure Jungle Safari. 

Home to the Bengal tigers,  one-horned rhino, clouded leopards, wild elephants, gaurs, golden jackals, jungle cats, small Indian civets and a myriad of other wildlife as well as birds and reptiles. Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu & sightseeing of twin Newari Village

Our representative from Himalayan trekkers will welcome you and transfer you to the hotel at Thamel. After brief rest, we go head for the sightseeing of twin Newari villages Khokana and Bungmati. They are situated 14 KM south of Kathmandu city.

Khokana and Bungmati - These two villages are located on the outskirts of the Patan District and are proposed as Tentative UNESCO heritage sites by the Nepal government. Khokana has the temple of Rudryaini and is also famous for the Mustard oil production.

Bungmati, 20 minutes walk from Khokana through paddy fields is full of old Newari houses and architecture. These twin villages are one of the best places to experience Nepal’s age-old heritage and to observe the daily life of the People. You will feel like walking in 18th century Europe as you go through these streets.

Day 2: Drive to Pokhara & explore Lakeside

After a warm breakfast at Kathmandu, we start the 7 hrs drive to Pokhara. We will make a few stops in between and enjoy the landscape Following the Trishuli river, we witness small and simple villages, as we drive along the Prithvi Highway.

Our trip also offers nice views of mountains, most notably from Khairini and onwards. If the weather is clear you can see the Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Manaslu and Annapurna as soon as you start going down from Kathmandu. In the evening, we stroll around the lakeside or depending on the time you reach Pokhara fo for a boating trip in the Phewa lake.

Day 3: Sarangkot sunrise view & Pokhara city tour

Early in the morning, we leave the hotel for Sarangkot - a Hill Station to catch amazing views of the sunrise falling over from the mighty Himalayas. After some time enjoying the moment here, we drive back to Pokhara and continue to explore the valley and the landmarks. 

Davis Fall, a unique waterfall that directly flows into a narrow and deep canal that has no ends. The Shiva Cave is located near Davis Fall and houses a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva - the primary figure in Hindu Scripture.

Then we return to Phewa lake for boating (if not done earlier) and visiting the Barahi Temple (if interested) in the middle of the Lake. After those water entertainment, we visit the famous International Mountain Museum (IMM), recording, documenting and chronicling the past and present developments of mountaineering activities in the world and the Himalayas in particular.

Then we also tour the Tibetan Settlement Camp and witness them busy producing and trading woolen products and other handicrafts.

Day 4: Drive to Chitwan & explore

Today after breakfast we will drive towards Chitwan - home of the largest national park named Chitwan national park which is listed in the UNESCO world heritage sites. After a brief rest, we take a walk through the village of the Tharu people, one of the famous indigenous groups in Nepal.

Explore their unique culture and a small hike in the village and later back to the hotel to see the Tharu dance program, which is a collection of many different dances that are performed by Tharu in different festivals.

Day 5: Chitwan National Park exploration day

Today in the early hours morning we will be riding elephants through the dense jungles and witness different wildlife as well as rare animals like One horn Rhino, Royal Bengal tigers,one-horned rhino,  species of deer.

After enjoying ride we will get down and have our breakfast and then we will be visiting elephant’s staples where you can find plenty of elephants and here you can enjoy taking bath of elephants.

After that, we take a drive to the jungles by safari jeep and then we will stop at Rapti River and enjoy a canoe ride and during our canoeing, we will be observing aquatic animals like dolphins, crocodiles, Gharials, and some aquatic birds. We can also enjoy a nature walk and observe diverse flora and fauna. We will spend our night in Chitwan.

Day 6: Return to Kathmandu

After breakfast, we drive back to Kathmandu approx 6 hours. The free time around Thamel in the evening and Himalayan Trekkers will host you farewell dinner in an authentic Nepali restaurant with cultural program .
