Some of the birds found in Chitwan National Park are Asian Openbill, Black-winged kite, Common Hoopoe, Cattle Egret, Asian Pied Starling, Spotted Bush Warblers, Cotton Pygmy Goose, Common Greenshank, Yellow-bellied Prinia, Grey Backed Shrike, Red Naped Ibis, Grey Wagtail, Paddy field Pipit, White Throated Kingfisher and numerous others.

The National Park is bliss for animal and bird lovers due to the rich diversity present there. When it comes to animals, this oldest National Park of Nepal listed among UNESCO protected sites consist of rare animals like one-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal Tiger, Leopard, Elephant, etc.

To give you the statistics of animal diversity present in this unforgettable national park, Chitwan National Park is the residence of about 68 kinds of mammals, 126 species of fish, and 58 types of reptiles including the gharial crocodile. Itinerary Details

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m)
30 min private drive

Upon landing at the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, a representative from Himalayan Trekkers will receive and greet you. You will be then driven towards your hotel for checking-in. You can stroll around the streets nearby your hotel.

Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan
5 hrs drive

Soon after breakfast, we leave Kathmandu and drive towards Chitwan. We pass by many hills, small villages, rivers and reach the plain land of Terai. 

Once we reach Chitwan, you can check-in and freshen-up. Then you may walk around the village area and explore the village culture. In the evening, you will get to see the Tharu Cultural dance. We assure you that you are surely going to enjoy the dance and you can even join the dancers if you want to.

Day 3: Bird watching in Janakauli Community forest
1 Hour

Early in the morning, we move to the nearby places from the hotel. The experience to watch it in the early morning is different. Birds fly from one place to another in search of food, so you might get the chance to see wide varieties of birds and even some rare varieties of them.

Then we get back to the hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, you are driven to Janakauli Community forest for Bird Watching. You get to see wide species of birds in this community forest. People have protected the forest as well as the animals and birds living there.

We again get back to the hotel for lunch and are now free on our own.

Day 4: Bird watching in Chitwan National Park
1 Hour

After breakfast at the hotel, you are driven towards the Bis Hazari Tal for further bird watching. Here also, we will encounter different unique species of birds such as Bengal Florican, the vulnerable lesser adjutant, Grey-crowned Prinia, swamp francolin, and many more. After spending more than half of the day exploring around the National park we will drive back to the hotel.

After having lunch at the hotel you are taken for Elephant Safari or Jeep Safari. After the Safari time, you are taken back to the hotel and you are free on your own for the rest of the evening.

Day 5: Drive back to Kathmandu
5 hrs drive

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kathmandu. Once in the city, you may opt to take a rest at the hotel or go explore the other cultural heritages like Patan Durbar Square/Bhaktapur Durbar Square/Budhanilkantha Temple. 

Then evening complimentary dinner with Himalayan Trekkers representative. You will be dropped back at your hotel to stay overnight.

Day 6: Final Departure

After breakfast, it is time for us to depart. We will drop you at the airport to catch up with your flight.
