Poon Hill Short Trek Overview

Poon Hill Short Trek is an ideal trek destination for trekkers, especially for time-restricted travelers who want to have a taste of the Himalayas. Also known as the Sunrise Trek, due to the magnificent sunrise views you get from Poon Hill (3,210 m).

Whether you are a beginner or a professional photographer, we bet that the panoramic views of the landscape from the hilltop will never disappoint you!

Why Poon Hill Short Trek

The real magical moment of the Poon Hill trekking package is in the morning when the darkness is shrouded by light, and in front of you lie the massive, dazzling mountains of the Annapurna ranges.

Poon Hill Short Trek offers something stunning & unique, whether that be snow-tipped mountain ranges of the Annapurna region, endless grasslands, and dense rhododendron forests that stretch as far as your eye can see, which seemingly never end.

A hot cup of coffee or tea on top of this hill, along with other fellow travelers, is the table talk of nature lovers who have been here before. Like all the treks of the Annapurna Region, the way to reach Poon Hill is from Pokhara.

Our trekking trail for Poon Hill passes through dense rhododendron forest with chirping birds while passing the villages like Ghorepani, Ulleri, and Ghandruk, where you get a true picture of Nepalese life and let you understand the bonding between different ethnic groups living together. Gurungs and Magars are the major inhabitants of this region.

You can also combine this best sunrise view trek in Nepal with the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek with Ghandruk, a 10-day package if you have a few extra days, where you can enjoy more in the backdrop of the Himalayas.

The best time to visit Poon Hill is Spring and while crossing Ghorepani, you also witness the largest collection of rhododendron forests with blooming flowers.

Poon Hill Trek Highlights

Accommodation

The accommodation for the Poon Hill Short Trek differs according to the altitude and the location. Most accommodation during the Short trek is teahouses. Get to experience the unique and beautiful landscapes in the Annapurna region.

We will maintain comfortable teahouses with all major equipment. We find a cozy place to retire after the day's trek.

Each teahouse’s selection will be based on safety and scenic view considerations. They will have access to the trekking trails. We ensure that the beauty in the surrounding mountains and landscapes is accessible.

i. Single Supplementary

There is a single supplement available at an additional cost for those wanting extra comfort and privacy on the trek. This allows solo trekkers a single tent that could be used as their own personal space to rest and regain after a day of climbing.

Those who like to be alone or for people with lots of equipment, single supplementary accommodation is the best option. It is highly recommended to do this in advance due to limited availability, adding great enjoyment to the trek, but still being part of group travel.

Meals during the Poon Hill Short Trek

Trekkers on the Poon Hill Short Trek are well-fed and hydrated throughout the journey. As the trek passes through villages, rugged terrains, and high-altitude areas, the arrangement ensures that trekkers get enough sustenance regularly so that they stay fresh and potent.

Every stage is planned in such a manner that you get proper nourishment to meet the heavy demand your body experiences due to the long trekking days and tiring ascent.

Drinking Water

Hydration is also a parallel concern, especially in high-altitude areas where dehydration and altitude sickness may be a factor.

Groups provide clean drinking water, either boiled or purified, and ask that trekkers keep themselves optimally hydrated throughout the trek. This attention to water supply helps combat the effects of exhaustion and altitude gain for overall well-being.

Nutrition and hydration planning around the Dhampus Peak Climb is so full that even in the most remote areas, trekkers will be better equipped to overcome diverse physical and environmental obstacles during the climb.

Awesome Poonhill Trek

Planning for trekking in Nepal from Bulgaria is itself a challenge and curiosity but we fortunately came through Himalayan Trekkers who made our dream come true. If you are also planning to come to Nepal for a trip then without searching for any agencies, believe me you can directly contact to Himalayan Trekkers as they are such trustworthy and knowledgeable team. Likewise, me along with my girlfriend did Poonhill trek in Nepal. After the car dropped us from Pokhara, We started our trek from Ullari by climbing over 3000 stone paved stairs. At first day it was pretty tiring and inhabitual but after we went to our hotel and got refreshed, all the tiredness was vanished. Such hospitality of the locals and the mesmerizing view of the place made us very excited and enthralled. Thank you guys for organizing such an amazing trip beyond our expectations. This trip and the time spent with you (Raj) is always going to be memorable and wonderful lifetime experience.

Spectacular experience through Himalaya and Nepalese Culture

Thank you very much Raj and team Balcrishna, Shankar and Sisir for such an amazing experience and adventure. The trekking through incredible places in the Anapurna Circuit enjoining the views was unique. Getting in touch with wonderful people and culture made the experience even more unforgetable.

Our trekk was just 5 days plus some days in Kathmandu and Pokhara. In total 10 days.. Short but intense! We already started to organize the next adventure through the Himalaya.. Maybe a bit bigger challenge this time? Upper Dolpo?

We really had good fun in the Mountains, singing and laughing with our team was priceless and made the challenge very special.

Thanks again

Amazing trekking to Puunhill

We had an amazing 3 day trek to Puunhill with our very nice guide Joel. During the trekking we stopped a few times to get more information of the flora and fauna all around us. Due to the very good English of Joel, we got a lot of information during this trekking, which we appreciate a lot. We were very lucky with the weather. Even though we had an amazing time, we recommend to do this trekking in 4 or 5 days instead of 3, because we think you will enjoy more if you take more time and you will go a different route down.

Amazing trek in Annapurna

We were in contact with Raj who helped us plan a trek in Annapurna just like we wanted it. Not only did he and our guide Ramesh deliver an amazing experience in the Himalayas, but Raj was also a valuable contact throughout our stay in Nepal and he also offered us a welcome and farewell nepalese meal. It was especially intresting to try their local alcoholic beverage Tongba, made out of fermented millet!

All in all, we couldn’t be happier with the service he provided!

Breathtaking trek in Annapurna region

Before coming to Nepal me and my boyfriend got in contact with Raj via a mutual friend. After telling Raj what we wanted to do, he put together a suggestion for a trip. What we really appreciated was the possibility to discuss the iteniary with Raj, thus custom tailoring our trip to our wishes!

We ended up doing a 8 day trip where the highlight was the sunrise at poonhill. Our guide Ramesh was really friendly and really took care of us, it was clear that he had done this many times before!

As icing on the cake we also got to enjoy two dinners with Raj, which gave as the opportunity to really discover nepal food and drinks. Would highly recommend them!

Excellent trek with Himalayan Trekkers

I've just finished my 4 days / 3 nights Poon Hill trek with Himalayan Trekkers and I really enjoyed it.

My young but yet experienced guide Mansoon was great and courteous. We had good moments and he was happy to answer to my needs.
If you do this trek with them you'll experience really good places to stay and wonderful views on the Himalayan mountain range and also local life in the villages, amazing nature.
All was really well planed and I thank Raj for the professionalism of his trek agency.

I hope I'll have some time in the future to try a new adventure with Himalayan Trekkers.
