Trip Route

Your trek starts at Beshi Sahar, taking you through Dharapani, Chame, Manang, etc., to Thorong Phedi or the High Camp. From here, you make your way to the renowned Muktinath Temple (one of the holiest Hindu pilgrimage sites in the world) via Thorong La. Attain peace in this holy location and continue towards your final journey.

On the way, you can find the different ethnic groups such as Sherpas, Bhotias, and Thakalis, with their own unique culture and way of life. Many lakes, including the world’s highest lake, Tilicho, beautiful landscapes, rare flora, fauna, and the chance to interact and indulge with the kind and humble local people are all amazing plus points of the route.

The trail from Annapurna to Manang passes through the stone-walled villages, the deep gorge of the Marshyangdi River, monasteries, chortens, etc. The higher you move, the better views you will get. Many travel magazines and online partners have listed this destination as a must-visit place in Nepal.

During your trip, you would come across the diversity of Nepal as you go through small villages with various ethnicities, forests with hundreds of plant and animal species, and the landscapes that will surprise you every time. Unveil the secrets, wrap the blanket of nature around, and start feeling the change.

Best season for the Thorong La Pass Trek

The optimum season for the Thorong La Pass trek are durimg spring and autumn. And the seasons you must avoid are winter and monsoon. Not only are they off-season for treks, but they also pose extreme risks on the trail.

Why are autumn and spring the best seasons for trekking? Fall and spring hold the most stable weather compared to winter and monsoon.

Fall is best for mountain views as the sky remains clear. Similarly, spring becomes the best choice for nature’s bliss. You find blossoming flowers throughout the trail.

Tempreture wise, spring and autumn offer the most comfortable numbers. Days during these seasons aren’t hot, and nights aren’t bitterly cold.

Winter offers a wonderful view of snow-covered peaks. While trekking in the lower elevations is perfect, the Thorong La Pass trek is not recommended.

Monsoon brings heavy rain to Nepal. Most trails become slippery, muddy, and hard to trek. The trail is infest insects and leeches. But the most risky part is the landslides during rainfall.

Meals

All our accommodation in Kathmandu offers a bed & breakfast service. Lunches and dinners are also available at the same hotel/resort at an extra cost. But there are thousands of restaurants and eateries in Kathmandu. So, you can choose one of them that matches your taste and dine in there.

During the trekking journey, all three meals with tea/coffee are provided. Breakfasts and dinners are usually served at the same teahouse/lodge, and lunches are found en route to the other destination.

The services are very basic, with the Nepalese menu being the most popular and eaten. Daal Bhat (Rice with lentil soup and seasonal vegetables), momos, noodles, eggs, chapatis, etc., are a few of the most popular menu items.

Drinking Water

Water is important in daily life, more so during treks in the Himalayas. Finding drinking water in this trek isn’t hard. You can expect spring water that you can treat.

Spring waters have many contaminants. You’d need to filter or use an iodine tablet, or UV treat it before drinking.

The second option is refilling your bottle in tea houses. They boil and filter drinking water, as such, making it 100% contamiant free. The house usually charges a small fee per liter.

The last option is buying bottled water at the small stores on the trail. The prices for the bottle remain reasonable.

Track around Annapurna

All the organization with Raj was very comfortable and went smooth. Track was well prepared and our experienced guide Tika made few changes according to our conditions. Even we chose quite advanced track through lake Tilicho and Throng-la pass, we felt fine and relax. We felt great support from our guide and all members of the organization.

Thanks a lot.
