Shamanism Tour in Nepal Overview

The Nepal Shamanism Tour is a different but unique type of tour where travelers can explore the shamanism practices of Nepal. The practice of shamanism has been running in the country for thousands of years and is commonly practiced in Hinduism and Buddhism.

Completely different from modern scientific teaching, shamanism is based on an invisible heavenly power and is completely associated with spiritual power. Pagan times, monolithic transitions, or regime changes did not lead to the extinction of this aspect of religion that is beyond the reach of science.

Shamanism is one of the ancient forms of healing that was put into practice due to the unavailability of allopathic medicines and modern health services to cure diseases or ailments. Performed by the shamans, that is, the witchdoctor (DHAMI and JHAKRI in Nepalese), it is believed that they have the power to heal the spirit of the living and the dead.

Nepal is known for its diverse ethnic groups with religious deviations. And they have their shamans who dedicate their lives to the community. They can be seen using many sacred objects, drums, chants, dances to initiate and maintain the inspiration of the deities.

The practice seems beyond your sight and knowledge. And even if you are skeptical about rituals and healing, Nepal Shamanism Tour can give you insight into religion and culture.

Accommodation

Himalayan Trekkers makes sure to manage the best, most comfortable, and preferred accommodation.

In general, we arrange a 3-star hotel with all facilities in cities (Kathmandu, Pokhara). If available, you can opt for a more budget-friendly option or upgrade to a more luxurious hotel by paying a little extra.

Although all places during your trek do not have all modern facilities (especially at higher altitudes), we ensure that it is arranged safely and comfortably. Mostly hygienic and safe tea houses / local lodges/homestays are arranged & please feel free to personalize according to your preference.

If your travel schedule includes camping or if you choose to experience it, a correct campsite will be determined in advance and everything will be taken care of. If required, we also provide equipment such as a tent, cookware, etc. Check the equipment list for more information.

Meals

Breakfast is usually included with your B&B accommodation within the costs. Meals in the cities must be paid separately. In the city areas, you are likely to get varied food services, many local menus to different international cuisines. We are always ready to help you find the places to eat to fit your taste.

Remote areas don't have that many options, but hygienic and well-prepared food is always served. Moreover, most meals are included in the costs during your trek. We can help you make changes according to your preference and budget, but only if choices are available! Moreover, Himalayan Trekkers also organize Welcome or Farewell Dinners as a symbol of warm greetings.
