Leh Ladakh Tour India Overview
The Leh Ladakh Tour is an amazing and exciting trip to the highest plateau region in India. This tour encompasses the capital city of Ladakh i.e. Leh, the Nubra Valley, and Pangong Lake.
Ladakh, one of the most stunning places on the earth still remains veiled in a mystery where harsh mountains cohabit with the magical sounds of Buddhist prayers. Located in the northern region of the Indian subcontinent and bordering Tibet, Ladakh offers an ideal way to gain an introduction to the frigid desert of Ladakh enhanced by the white-washed towering monasteries, and breathtaking scenery, beautiful frozen lakes, winding roads, and gorgeous waterfalls all in one dynamic landscape.
The 9-day of a stunning trip to Leh Ladakh commences with a scenic flight from Delhi to Leh. Leh is the capital of Ladakh and is a dream destination of many and there is something for everyone whether you're a nature lover, a cultural aficionado, a history buff, an adventurer, or even a honeymooner.
This trip package designed by Himalayan Trekkers includes some of the must-see sights of Leh City such as Leh Palace, which is set atop a mountain; Shanti Stupa, which is well recognized; and Leh Market, which is a perfect place for shopping in Ladakh. You will also visit the junction of the Indus and Zanskar rivers, as well as Magnetic Hill, which is noted for its optical illusion. In addition, visits to the imposing Buddhist monasteries such as Hemis Gompa, and Thiksey Monastery provide a spiritual feel.
Our itinerary also takes to you the beautiful Nubra Valley which is connected to Leh with one of the highest motorable passes called Khardung La. Diskit Monastery and the 32-meter statue of Maitreya Buddha are the prime attractions of the valley. The Nubra Valley is also famous for its Bactrian Camel (two-humped camel) Safari.
When traveling to Leh Ladakh, Pangong Tso (Lake) is never to be missed. It is the world's highest saltwater lake, located at a height of over 4,350 meters. An interesting fact about the lake is that it can change colors from blue to green to even grey at times. These are also the periods when both the Srinagar-Leh and Leh-Manali highways are accessible.
April marks the beginning of the spring season in Leh Ladakh with the slowly melting snow. Nature unfolds the spectacular vistas, and fascinating perspectives, and makes the region live and fresh with a cool wind blowing around. It's that time of year when the Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri Lakes begin to welcome you and prepare to fascinate you.
Starting from June, the nights are pleasant and the temperature does not drop significantly. The sky is clear, and you can see the distant mountains in the distance. Summertime also makes photography and filming easier and more pleasant. It is also the optimum time to do the Leh Ladakh Motorbike Tour and get that level of adventure you expect to get. Summer also celebrates some of the significant festivals such as YuruKabgyat, Hemis Festivals, and Saka Dawa.
With the end of pleasant summer days, the monsoon begins to show up at the end of July going in full swing during August which means the rivers are at their youth with abundant water, fresh vitality, and new life to flow at their greatest potential. There are few rain shadow areas but the highways to get there are not. In fact, the monsoon landslides are more common on the highways making traveling in monsoon unsafe and dangerous. If you are a desperate one then you can visit with full-on preparation.
Another best time to visit Leh Ladakh again starts now that the monsoons have passed and highway maintenance work has been completed. The autumn months of mid-September to October make the entire area attractive and awash in vibrant colors. Rivers are also at their best now that the water has subsided and they are flowing magnificently with all of their charm and majesty.
The chilly breeze and dryness slowly move in Leh Ladakh starting in late October. This is to indicate the entry of the “winter”. The highways are still open till November but the visits slowly begin to close. Then the coldest months December and January make all the roads go through curfew because of the heavy snowfall. The flights are still available but only for those dares who love cold days and very harsh nights. Nevertheless, there are some spectacular vistas that will stay with you for the rest of your life.
