Kori Hill Trek - Upto 10% Off - Book Now! Overview
The Kori Hill Trek is one of the hidden gems within the Annapurna region, ideal for trekkers who want a more culturally immersive and authentic experience.
The adventure from the marvelous city of Pokhara goes further into traditional villages, thick forests, and tranquil landscapes, which show you another side of Nepal's natural and cultural diversity.
The trek starts with a drive to Sikles, a very picturesque Gurung village famous for its homestay experiences. Visitors come to immerse themselves in the local ways of life and traditions.
At an elevation of 2,100 meters, Sikles is one of the largest Gurung settlements in the region. An ideal venture for tourists, it presents one with terraced fields, panoramic mountain views, and warm local hospitality.
The day excursion to Kapuche Lake, part of most of Nepal's unique attractions, is a major highlight during this trek.
Situated at 2,450 meters above sea level, Kapuche Lake happens to be the country's lowest glacial lake, surrounded by towering peaks and lush greenery.
The trail to Kapuche presents a stunning combination of nature: walking through rhododendron forests, alongside rivers, up to finally arriving at this serene, crystal-clear lake.
Its still waters reflect the surrounding mountains, making it a picture-perfect sight for any trekker.
Spending a whole night here at Hugu Goth to appreciate this tract of wilderness in beauty and serenity as a tranquil retreat far from the hustle of more crowded treks is a must.
While the trek goes higher, the trail will take you to Nohtha and Kori Danda’s high points that provide excellent wide-angle views of the Annapurna and Lamjung Himal ranges.
At 3,800 meters, Kori Danda is the highest point of the trek and thus one of the most magnificent viewpoints in the Annapurna region.
The view from here is a visual treat as it offers breathtaking sunrises and sunsets over snow-laden peaks that make the effort of the trekker worth experiencing and enlightening due to some attachment to nature.
The serene trails passing through traditional settlements and virgin landscapes offer the feel of adventure and discovery, which is seldom experienced in other trekking regions.
The trek concludes with a downhill trek to Sikles and the drive back to Pokhara, but the trekking memories linger on much afterward. Kori Hill offers a perfect blend of culture and nature as one trek throughout the journey.
The trail is moderately difficult and ideal for those who wish to trek along routes not so traveled by people, avoiding the hustle and bustle of more popular Annapurna trails.
Be it the warm hospitality of the Gurung people, the pristine beauty of Kapuche Lake, or the exhilarating mountain views from Kori Danda, this trek is truly a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered.
