This means that unless you qualify for the required fitness levels, reaching Muktinath can be a hassle.

More Information about the Route

Pick-up will be done from Kathmandu and continuing from there, the day’s journey will end in Tatopani via Pokhara. It will take around 5 hours, onwards from Pokhara. The terrain is a little rough but the destination compensates for it with its natural hot springs and breathtaking beauty. Once, we reach Tatopani, the night halt will be done in Jomsom. 

Jomsom, in itself, is an impressive town with spectacular views of snowy peaks, undulating hills and the steady gurgling of the Kali-Gandaki River. An entire day is reserved for spending quality time here and simultaneously, recovers from the hectic schedule of the previous day.

The next day is for visiting Muktinath where the day is spent enjoying the temple and its surroundings before retiring for the night. Moving forward, the next stop will be Marpha where delicious local apples and apple products like apple wines as well as brandy are found in abundance. 

Finally, with fond memories, we will start the return trip back to Kathmandu, passing through Pokhara once more. The thrill of a rocking jeep on the narrow, jagged rocks of Kagbeni and gravely pathways will definitely leave a few bones rattled if not an adrenaline rush.

Temperatures During the Jomsom Muktinath Jeep Tour

Well, temperatures during the summer months range from March to August experience anywhere between 18 to 6-degrees Celcius. On the other hand, the winter temperatures in September to November are 14 to 16-degrees Celsius but it may dip below 4-degrees depending on weather conditions.

Temperatures in December and January witness a harsh winter below the freezing point, plummeting as low as -8 degrees Celsius.

Perched at 3800m, the Muktinath temple will be the highest spot of the Jomsom Muktinath Road Adventure. 

The ideal period of doing the trip is between June and September for pleasant weather conditions and a colorful flora against the backdrop of the vast mountains with snowy peaks. If you are unable to plan your trip within this period, it can also be done in March, April, May, November, and December.

Although there may be a snowfall problem if the temperature dips much. Since it is a covered vehicle, and if the weather is sunny, the days will be warm and soothing but nights will be chilly so make sure you pack adequate winter gear.

In general, we arrange a 3* Standard Category Accommodations with all facilities in cities. If available, you can opt for a more budget-friendly option or upgrade to a more luxurious hotel by paying a little extra.

Although all places during your trek do not have all modern facilities (especially at higher altitudes), we ensure that it is arranged safely and comfortably. Mostly hygienic and safe tea houses / local lodges/homestays are arranged & please feel free to personalize according to your preference.

If your travel schedule includes camping or if you choose to experience it, a correct campsite will be determined in advance and everything will be taken care of. Meals

Breakfast is usually included with your accommodation within the costs. Meals in the city must be paid separately. Often in the cities, you can choose from many different cuisines and varied food services. We can always help you find the right place.

Remote areas don't have that many options, but hygienic and well-prepared food is always served. Moreover, most meals are included in the costs during your trek. We can help you make changes according to your preference and budget, but only if choices are available!
