If you like dining in style and want to trek luxuriously with a stunning, panoramic view of the Himalayas in the backdrop–consider our Everest Luxury Trek. It includes staying in quintessential lodges all around the Khumbu region. Experience this one-of-a-kind trek designed solely for relaxation along with breathtaking views of multiple 8000m peaks visible around the region. In a place where hot water is more of a feature than an amenity, you will experience Nepal’s finest with spacious rooms with attached bathrooms.

We even provide twin bedded and heated rooms for an immensely pleasant experience near the largest mountains in the world. Since the 1950s, trekking expeditions to Everest via Nepal have become very popular. The lodges are based on the Yeti Mountain Home chain at Lukla, Phakding, Namche Bazaar, and Thame and Kongde and are designed to deliver the best views of the Himalayan range from any room.

Why Choose Everest Luxury Trek?

The primary features of this Everest Luxury trek beside staying in luxury lodges include stunning views of the Cho Oyu, Lhotse and Ama Dablam, & a noble trail along the west side of the valley to Kongde. In all, we will spend 9 days experiencing the Khumbu region, home to Everest, with panache. We even provide an optional day hike itinerary to Farak RI for those seeking a more sprawling view of the Khumbu Valley. One can expect lovely hiking conditions on this relatively simple, Himalayan trek that barely touches 5000m.

The highest altitude we will rest at is 4250m, a modest elevation by Himalayan standards, and we don’t expect any accompanying altitude sickness issues on this hike. However, please note that proceeding above the 3000m elevation mark takes its toll on the body as compared to walking at lower elevations.

Most of the paths we will follow are well traversed by Sherpas and yaks, the former of which tends to care for some of these paths. Considering hikers will be required to walk between 4 to 6 hours every day for about a week - this Everest Luxury Trek is intended for active hikers who can keep up with a moderate pace. Though no camping is involved, it is better to be physically prepared for the possibly frigid weather.

Highlights of Everest Luxury Trek

  • A sprawling view of the Khumbu Valley.
  • One of the grandest treks in the world.
  • Trek into the scenic Sherpa heartland of the Khumbu Valley.
  • Stunning mountain views with world popular Sherpa hospitality.
  • Awe-striking views of Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho Oyu, and Mt. Lhotse Shar.
  • Diverse flora, fauna, and wildlife like snow leopard and red panda.

Day 3

Fly to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2610m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

We begin our excursion with a flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Himalayas. It is the most popular destination for hikers and trekkers hoping to grasp the wonder of Nepal. We lunch at Lukla after which we proceed, mostly downhill, to spend the night at Phakding (2610 m). Being a popular village for overnight halts, we can expect good company and food for the night.

Accommodation: Hotel/Lodge Estimated Walking Distance: 4 Hours

Day 4

Trek Namche Bazaar (3440 m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

After a sumptuous breakfast, we prepare for a pleasant trek along the Dudh Kosi River banks where we cross the river a couple of times before ascending sharply to Namche Bazaar (3440 m). Walking along the undulating banks of the river and following its meandering path for the day will give us a good sense of typical routines in the lives of the locals. We spend the night at Namche Bazaar. The day is expected to be pleasant and relaxing overall.

Accommodation: Hotel/Lodge Estimated Walking Distance: 5/6 Hours

Day 5

Acclimatize and hike up to Khumjung & Khunde Village

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

With two options for the day, you can choose to either acclimatize and experience the local culture at Namche or hike to the nearby villages of Khumjung and Khunde for spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Since they are Sherpa villages, you may even catch a sneak peek into the lives of these men that rely on the mountains and tourism traffic for their livelihood. We stay at Namche Bazaar for the second night.

Accommodation: Hotel/Lodge Estimated Walking Distance: 4/5 hours

Day 6

Trek to Thame (3820 m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

The day begins with a bit laborious climb out of Namche Bazaar but quickly becomes subtle as we take the Bhote Kosi River high trail. We will be accompanied by a pleasant view of the river through most of our hike. The greenery along the banks and the surrounding trails are a very welcome change from the hustle and bustle of large cities or villages. We can now feel truly separated from the normal world. As our journey continues, we cross the villages of Phurte and Thamo and reach the Sherpa settlement of Thame (3820m). Halt at Thame for the night.

Accommodation: Tea House/lodge Estimated Walking Distance: 4/5 Hours

Day 7

Explore Thame

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

We begin the day with a quick visit to a very popular monastery in the area. The Thame Monastery is located right above the Thame village and will provide a holistic experience of the Buddhist way of life. While you could stay and soak in the culture, we also arrange for an optional hike to the Sumdar Ridge (4830 m) that provides a great view-point for Teng Kangpoche, Kongde, Everest, Makalu, Percharmo, Cho Oyu, Kangtega and Kusum Kanguru. We spend a second night at Thame.

Accommodation: Tea house/Lodge Estimated Walking Distance: Approx. 3 Hours

Day 8

Trek to Konde

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Prepare to see what few others have set their eyes on as we take a path less traveled. Traversing this traditional path into the Khumbu region we might encounter rhododendron shrubs, alpine and bamboo trees accompanied by spectacular views that often go unseen by trekkers hiking the classic route. By the end of the day, we hope to reach Kongde - a small hamlet located at the base of its namesake mountain. We stay at a lodge in Kongde for the night.

Accommodation: Tea House/Lodge Estimated Walking Distance: 5/6 Hours

Day 9

Optional climb up to Farak Ri

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Following a plush breakfast, for those who feel up to another day of hiking, you can proceed with guides and Sherpas to the Farak Ri which takes about three hours and offers a panoramic view of the Khumbu region. You can see some of the tallest summits in the region from the comfort of moderate elevation. Those who wish to do otherwise may unwind in the lodge which provides its own brand of views.

Accommodation: Tea House/Lodge Estimated Walking Distance: 3 Hours

Day 10

Trek to Phakding

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

We depart early day and make a quick but steady descent down 1400m where we intersect with the main Everest Trail and reach our accommodation at Phakding. While it is downhill almost all the way, it is important to be especially safe as it is easy to get lost in ones’ surroundings.

Accommodation: Hotel/Lodge Estimated Walking Distance: 5/6 Hours

Day 11

Trek back to Lukla

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

We spend the last day of our trek hiking together for a short while as we ascend the final crest to the Lukla Ridge and check-in to our lodge in Lukla. Hikers can choose to spend the final evening at Lukla resting or experiencing the indigenous ethos with local wine and local foods.
