Walking along the undulating banks of the river and following its meandering path for the day gives us a good sense of typical routines in the lives of the locals. With two options for the day, you can choose to either acclimatize and get experience local culture at Namche or hike to the nearby villages of Khumjung and Khunde for spectacular views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Day 6

Trek to Thame (3820 m)

The day begins with a laborious climb out of Namche Bazaar but quickly becomes subtle as we take the Bhote Kosi River high trail and have a pleasant view of the river through most of our hike. The greenery along the banks and the surrounding trails are a very welcome change from the hustle and bustle of large cities or villages. We are now truly separated from the world. As our journey continues, we cross the villages of Phurte and Thamo and reach the Sherpa settlement of Thame (3820m). Halt at Thame for the night.
