Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN), the umbrella organization of all the trekking agencies of Nepal has successfully organized Trekking Workers Running Championship 2013″.
The program was held on 25th May 2013, Saturday at Nagarjun, Kathmandu, Nepal. The program was organized for celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of the First ascent of Mount Everest. It was a 14 Kilometers race and it was started from the Fulbari Gate, one of the entrance of Shivapuri Watershed and Wildlife Reserve. Member agencies of TAAN were entitled to take part in the running championship. The competition was divided into two groups i.e. male and female. Winners and runners-up in both the group have received Rs. 25,000, Rs. 15,000, and Rs. 10,000 respectively.
We, Himalayan Trekkers also participated as an active member for the success of the event. Among the five participants representing our organization, Mr. Ramesh Dhamala secured the 15th position among more than 150 participants. We look forward to participating in other programs organized by TAAN for the development of trekking in Nepal.
