Taboche Peak Climbing Overview
If you are done with the sub-6000 m peaks and want to try something higher and more challenging, you may want to target Taboche Peak Climbing. This experience in climbing will definitely give a blush to your cheeks.
Getting up the mountain takes a lot of guts, along with experienced skills in climbing steep slopes of penetrating rocks and thick, dense ice. The total journey can take about a month and fluctuates between altitudes of 2600 m and 6500 m.
Taboche, or sometimes called Tawoche, is located just above the small villages of Dingboche and Pheriche, while directly overlooking the famous mountain Ama Dablam.
As always in the Everest region, start your journey from Lukla and make your way to Phakding. From here, you pass villages, the heart of the Khumbu region at Namche Bazaar, where you will get good food, acclimatize, and continue until you reach Pheriche village.
After reaching the base camp, rest at 5200m and collect your energy while your body takes care of acclimatization. Following is the strenuous journey of more than 10 days to reach the top that is extremely stubborn and has given in to a handful of climbers.
Along the way, you will visit the heart and soul of Khumbu through its villages of multi-ethnic, hardworking, and warm people, dense pine forests, oaks, and vegetation filled with rare flowers. You will also encounter wild animals that are not very common in the lowlands. One can witness the beautiful snowy mountains, the surroundings, and the hospitality of the Sherpa people staying here.
Taboche Peak Climbing is an experience that you will never forget! It is an adventure of a lifetime as the natural beauty and beautiful scenery, along with the hardship that you took to climb these mountains, will remain in the panorama of your mind forever!
