"Nepal is a country with more temples than houses, more god and goddess than people and more festivals than days in a year” was the statement used by Sir Kirk Patrick (British Diplomat) to describe the essence of Nepal".

Nepal has always been a famous pilgrimage for Hindus and Buddhist and the religious tolerance in this country has been an example in the whole world as Christians, Muslims and other minority religions are living in this country with great harmony and mutual cooperation.

Nepal is the country of Pashupatinath, the most sacred temple of Lord Shiva and Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.

There are many pilgrimage sites such as Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath Stupa, Barah Chhetra, Gosainkunda, Pathibhara, Tengboche, Manakamana, Gorkha temple, Lumbini, Muktinath, Halesi Mahadev, Janakpur Dham, Tansen, and Swargadwari, Khaptad Ashram, etc.

Nepal is also the gateway to Kailash Mansarovar, the mythical abode of Lord Shiva. Devotees from various parts of Nepal and India throng the temples during special festivals. On this Pilgrimage Tours of Nepal of 14 days, we make to all the pilgrimage sites mentioned above.

Although non-Hindus are not allowed inside the temple premises, the cremation that takes place around the Pashupatinath temple area is interesting for foreigners. Listed as a UNESCO world heritage site in 1979 this area has a lot of Sadhus/Hindu holy men who are center of attraction for many foreigners. Make sure you want to pay them if you take their pictures as they ask for money for being photographed.

Boudhanath Stupa is one of the oldest monument in Kathmandu valley and one of the first monuments with a written history. One of the biggest pilgrimages for Tibetans the area around this stupa is also known as the little Tibet in Kathmandu. This was listed in the UNESCO’s world heritage site list in 1979 A.D.

Budhanilkantha is a Hindu temple of Lord Vishnu. It is the unique Hindu shrine where you can find the statue of Lord Vishnu lying on the coiled snakes in a small holy pond. The 5-meter long statue is the main attraction where you can observe lots of Hindu devotees being involved in rituals and pujas with flowers, tikas, and fruits. The interesting fact is that no king after Pratap Malla has visited this temple because of the belief that the king will die after visiting this site.
