On your combined trip to the beautiful and extraordinary Namobuddha Panauti Balthali Day hike, you can experience the surreal lifestyle, enjoy the scenery, and explore three locations at a time at one visit.

Since a day is not enough for the hiking, an additional day must be added to make the most out of this trip.

Namobuddha is a famous monastery dedicated to Lord Buddha and the most peaceful monastery. The monastery is situated on the hilltop of Kavre District. It takes about 3 hours hike from Panauti village and 2 hours of drive from Kathmandu to reach the area. Despite its close proximity to Kathmandu, about 2 hrs drive, the monastery and its surroundings are very peaceful.

While hiking, you pass through the lush green forest and a graveled road. It is a moderate level hike for those who are hiking for the first time.

There are about 2 to 3 routes to hike to Namobuddha Monastery from Panauti, but not exactly the hiking route though.

Panauti is one of the nearest villages from Kathmandu and also perfect for community homestays, one can surely appreciate the environment here. The local residents are mostly occupied by Newar, Tamang, and Magar communities. You can thus experience varied cultures and traditions within this small territory.

Ancient temples and a holy river even makes the area very popular from a cultural point of view. Furthermore, the landscapes and views of the village are very pleasant for your eyes. Moreover, the location has very clean surroundings, diversified people of different ethnic groups yet a very warm and welcoming environment.

Similarly, Balthali is another popular hiking spot near Kathmandu valley. Located at a distance of 28 kilometers from Kathmandu, at Kavrepalanchowk district, the area is a very popular destination for Homestay tour. The village gives and the route to it provides equal and stunning views.

Likewise, Khopasi, a typical Newari community is a nearby destination in between Panauti and Balthali. You get to see plenty of cultivated lands, terraced fields, and beautiful landscapes on your way.

Thank you Raj and Sujan for such a lovely trip. I felt so welcome and enjoyed every moment until we stayed in Nepal. The mountains views with warm tea in the morning were awesome. Missing the breakfast of homestay.

Will return to enjoy more days in near future.
