Day 1: Arrive Kathmandu

While you land in Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, a welcoming representative from Himalayan Trekkers will greet you and directly transfer you to the hotel to check-in. .

Take good rest as after the evening welcome dinner in a traditional Nepalese restaurant, you will be mesmerized to witness the cultural show that truly upholds the Nepalese tradition. Later, you will return to the hotel for a comfortable night.

Day 2: Full-day Kathmandu sightseeing

On completing your breakfast, our guide will take you to full-day sightseeing of the beautiful Kathmandu valley. Swayambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square are the famous destinations in Kathmandu valley that will be a complete treat to your eyes.

Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu temples in the world dedicated to Lord Shiva. Thousands of devotees from all around the world come to this sacred location to offer their prayer.

Boudhanath Stupa is another destination our team will have the next halt. You are going to attain peace in this serene location as the two eyes of Buddha spreads positive energy as soon as you step into this spiritual land.

However, for reliving the history, Kathmandu valley has Kathmandu Durbar Square which is home to some of the magnificent monuments of Nepal. Being right in the center of the gorgeous Kathmandu valley, it offers a breathtaking view of the mountainous surroundings.

And we take you through the history of Kathmandu so that you can have the fullest experience. "Monkey temple" or Swayambhunath is another temple in Kathmandu valley that will captivate your attention. We will end the day full of activity by staying over at your hotel.

Day 3: Fly from Kathmandu to Gonggar Airport & drive to Lhasa
2 hour+ flight & 1/2 hour drive

The 3rd day will start with a 2 and half hours flight. You will finally arrive at Gongar Airport and after a comfortable half an hour drive, we will reach towards the final destination, Lhasa.

Day 4: Sightseeing of Lhasa

The warm breakfast will surely fill you with energy to explore the city. Our guide will lead you to the next gorgeous destination, the Potala Palace that is the winter Palace of the Dalai Lamas from 1649 to 1959. The spiritual gurus have created an architectural masterwork that stands for the unity of Tibetans. The palace derived its name from Mount Potalaka and now, it is considered to be a World Heritage Site. 

After your historical tour, we will have a lunch break. A holy place for the Tibetan Buddhists, Jokhang Temple will be the next stop. But gathering experiences is a must. Hence, we will give you some private time to walk through the old Barkhor Street. We assure your walks through the traditional Lhasa Street will be delightful.

Day 5: Drive to Gyantse

As you have to be seated for several hours during your journey to Gyantse, get ready early morning as we will be going for site visits. We will be visiting the very famous market of Bazaar at the earliest hours before getting all set for Gyantse.

Gyantse was a revered capital of a small Kingdom back in the 15th-century. But besides knowing the knits and grits of this lovely destination, we will visit a 14th-century monument named Kumbum Chorten without any delay.

Day 6: Drive to Shigatse

The day starts with visiting Kumbum Stupa (1440 AD) that manifests the rich Nepali architecture.  It has around 108 doors and 77 chapels throughout the four floors. Then, Phalkor Monastery (1418AD) is our next halt.

Phalkor Monastery holds a special importance in Tibet. This monastery solely unites three different sects of Tibetan Buddhism namely the Gelupa, the Sakyapa and the Buton.

Next, we proceed to visit the second biggest Tibetan city Shigatse. A 90 km drive and you reach Shigatse. Move ahead and visit the Tashilhunpo monastery where the successive Panchen Lama gets seated.

Day 7: Drive to Lhatse

While you drive through the highways to reach Lhatse, the Tibetan landscapes amidst the mountainous locations will feel your heart with joy. 

To know more about the culture and traditions of this place, we will visit the small Gelug monasteries. Another ruin of this Old Dzong is a 150-meter high rock that is magnificent in its way. Changmoche Monastery is another lesser-known monastery in the western end that will make you fall in love with the place.

Day 8: Drive to Saga

We will pass the mighty Brahmaputra River as we head towards north-west by bidding farewell to Lhatse. The mountain villages will appear as if it straight came out of any picture. 

We reach our today's destination, Saga and relax. Overnight.

Day 9: Drive to Manasarovar Lake

The long drive through this valley will present you with the rich mountain wildlife. The best part of this drive is watching the nomads. These nomads welcome the tourists with hot servings and tea to envelope you with warmness.

Mt. Kailash and Manasarovar will be right in front of your eyes by late afternoon. Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurula Mandata, and Lake Rashekshi surround the gorgeous lake. Few monasteries are even situated around the Manasarovar and you will be blinded by the scenic beauty. The ancient Chiu Monastery that is located on the steep of a hill looks nothing less than a picture.

Day 10: Drive to Darchen

Today we  move towards Darchen, the base camp for Kailash Trekkeing where we will be setting up our camp for an overnight stay. Thousands of prayer flags elevate the charm of the location.

Rest of the day is for preparation for the Kora that starts next day.

Day 11: Trek to Dirapuk (first day of Kora)
5-6 hrs
Max Altitude: 5,080 m

After 2 hrs of walking during the first day of Kora, we stop at Darpoche where a huge prayer flag pole is replaced every year. We also pay a visit to Trulku Monastery where we may get a chance to witness the blue sheep passing by the rocky hillside. 

Finally, a few hours of the hike will take us to Diraphuk. We explore the ruins of Dirapuk Monastery that got destroyed during the cultural revolution.

Day 12: Trek to Zuthul Phuk via Dolma La Pass (2nd day of Kora)
6-7 hrs
Max Altitude: 5,600 m

The route of Drolma Chu to Lha Chu valley is popular among pilgrims and you need to cross the famous Dolma La Pass (5630m) which is situated in between this pilgrim route.

After having a steep climb till the pass, we will next descend down for Zuthul Puk. You will cross Parvati-sthal and Gauri Kunda on your way. We will reach Zuthul Puk that is hailed as the cave of Miracles by late afternoon.

Day 13: Trek to Darchen–Dongba (End Kora)
4-5 hrs
Max Altitude: 4,575 m

It is time to walk back to the Bharka and Darchen as the trip is about to come to an end. You are going to pass numerous Mani stones and walls along with the gorges by walking for one last time. After you reach Darchen, we will drive back to Dongba by making way through Manasarovar, the beautiful lake.

Day 14: Drive to Saga

We will drive back to Saga and you can complete your unfinished sightseeing of this place. Relax your body and spend some alone time with nature as these are the memories that you are going to cherish when you will return back to the hustle-bustle of daily life

Day 15: Drive to Shigatse

On day 15th, we will head back to Shigatse.

And now you can explore the site once again and complete your Shigatse sightseeing.

Day 16: Drive to Lhasa

Lhasa is the capital of the Tibet Autonomous region has surely a lot to offer.  If you want to see more of Lhasa, we are always happy to assist you. If you are left with buying gifts for your loved ones, you can shop from here. Or else you can choose to rest as we need to fly to Kathmandu the very next day.

Day 17: Fly to Kathmandu
2 hour+ flight & 1/2 hour drive

After the tiresome flight, you get the whole day off. Pack your luggage and witness the glamour of Kathmandu a little more as your trip is going to come to its closure in just a few hours. Gorge on the local foods, do some shopping and enjoy the last in your very own Nepal.

Generally, in cities like Kathmandu, Lhasa, and Gyantse, we arrange basic three-star facilities. If available, you can opt for a more budget-friendly option or upgrade to a more luxurious hotel by paying a little extra. 

Although all the places might not have all the modern facilities, we will make sure to arrange safe and comfortable accommodation. In general, hygienic and safe tea houses/local lodges/ home-stays with all the basic facilities are arranged. But you can, if possible, personalize according to your preference. 

If your itinerary includes camping or you choose to experience camping during your travel, a proper camping-site will be pre-decided. If required, we also provide the basic equipment which is refundable. Please check the Gear-List and Requirement List for more information.

Meals

Breakfast is usually included with your B&B Accommodation within the cost that is evident.

For other meals in the city, you would have to pay separately. Often in the cities, you can choose from many different cuisines and varied food services. We can always help you find the right place to fit your taste.

In more remote areas, usually, there are not many options. But you can always find hygienic and well-prepared food. Moreover, almost all the meals during the trek are included in the cost. We can help you make changes according to your preference and budget, but only if choices are available!

On top of that, Himalayan Trekkers also organizes Welcome or Farewell Dinners as a symbol of warm greetings.
