This 24-day trip to the mystical land of Tibet is a combination of exotic and guided sightseeing tours in the largest city of Tibet, Lhasa, and the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu.
What The Tour Offers
The sightseeing tour in Lhasa provides you with insights about the Tibetan culture and history, as you will visit the popular and important landmarks like Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace, Sera Monastery, Deprung Monastery, and Jokhang Temple.
The UNESCO World Heritage Site in Kathmandu offers you the unique artistic and architectural pieces. The Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Kathmandu Durbar Square are very prominent sites with great significance both culturally, spiritually, and even for historians.
Best Season for Kharta Valley Trek
The Kharta Valley Trek is best experienced during two seasons. Treks are best during the spring and autumn seasons. Here is what these seasons offer:
Spring (April to May)
Stable weather with clear skies
Blooming alpine vegetation in the valley
Comfortable trekking temperatures
Excellent views of Mount Everest from the eastern side
Autumn (September to October)
Post-monsoon clarity with crisp mountain views
Dry trails and safer high-pass crossings
Ideal visibility of Everest, Makalu, and surrounding peaks
Seasons to Avoid This Trek
Winter and monsoon are the least favorable times to trek this package. And here is why:
Monsoon / Summer (June to August)
Heavy rainfall on approach routes
Landslides and difficult travel conditions
Cloud cover is blocking the Himalayan views
Slippery and muddy trails
Winter (November to March)
Extremely cold conditions in high-altitude zones
Snow-covered passes (especially Lamna La/passes in the Kharta region)
Risk of blocked trails and limited support facilities
Kharta Valley Trek Difficulty
The Kharta Valley Trek is less crowded than the Everest Base Camp. However, don’t mistake that for easy. The Kharta trek often goes above 4,000m. The trek is moderate to hard in difficulty.
You need to cross remote high passes. Thus adding to the difficulty of this trek. Furthermore, the trail goes through remote locations. As a result, most of the infrastructure is limited compared to popular treks.
Thankfully, the trek does not need any technical climbs. All trekkers need to have is good physical fitness and stamina. It is best suited for trekkers with some prior high-altitude experience.
Our trekking trail to Khatra Valley passes through several alpine meadows, picturesque pastures of yak, nomadic lands, and crystal clear, icy lakes with great views of the Himalayas in the backdrop.
We, Himalayan Trekkers, are always ready to assist you if you have any unanswered queries. So, please feel free to contact us if you have any doubts.
