Soi Yaksa Trek Overview

Soi Yaksa Trek of Bhutan, also known as the Jumolhari Loop Trek, is one of the most famous moderate-level treks of Bhutan. The hike offers you both the cultural aspect and the natural beauty taking you to the spectacular Mount Jumolhari (7326 meter) base camp.

This 11-day and 10-night trip allows you to experience great trekking alongside the nomadic lifestyle of Bhutan. One can enjoy the activities of yak herders and Himalayan farmers during this amazing hike along with views of Mt Jumolhari, Jitchu Drake, and Tsheringkhang.

Our Soi Yaksa Trek begins with an acclimatization hike to the popular Taktsang Monastery on the day of your arrival. The ascent of about 4200 steps to the Tiger's Nest (Taktsang Monastery) takes you to an altitude of 3120 meters, which is a great start.

Tiger's Nest monastery has been the symbol of Bhutan due to its religious significance and awesome location.

The route follows through many majestic mountains, rocky cliffs, wildflower meadows, and lakes, with frequent ascents and descents until we reach Bonte La pass (4890 m), the highest point of the trek and finally follow the trail, reach our ultimate destination - the Soi Yaksa Valley (3800 m).

Accommodation

Himalayan Trekkers promises to manage the best, most comfortable, and preferable accommodation.

Generally, in cities like Paro and Thimpu, we arrange basic three-star facilities. If available, you can opt for a more budget-friendly option or upgrade to a more luxurious hotel by paying a little extra.

Although all the places might not have all the modern facilities, we will make sure to arrange safe and comfortable accommodation. In general, hygienic and safe tea houses/local lodges/ home-stays with all the basic facilities are arranged. But you can, if possible, personalize according to your preference.

If your itinerary includes camping or you choose to experience camping during your travel, a proper camping-site will be pre-decided. If required, we also provide the basic equipment which is refundable. Please check the Gear-List and Requirement List for more information.

Meals

All meals in Bhutan are included in the evident cost. However, if you want to eat your meals other than at your hotel or local restaurant, you will have to pay the additional amount.

In more remote areas, usually, there are not many options. But you can always find hygienic and well-prepared food. We can help you make changes according to your preference and budget, but only if choices are available!

Please go through the detailed itinerary for more information. We are always there to help you travel to your heart’s content.
