Brilliant trip to Bardia National Park!

We put our faith in 'Adventure Mission Nepal' to organise our entire stay in Nepal, but we needn't have worried as Raj had it planned for us with military precision from beginning to end! There were ten of us to ferry to and from the airport and around Kathmandu and their large, comfortable van made it easy for us. Our stay at Bardia was amazing! The staff were very welcoming at the lodge and the food was great. Starting and ending the day around a huge open fire and snuggling up to a hot water bottle at night after a hot shower, was quite special! Unfortunately elephant safaris have now been stopped within the park, which was disappointing, but an evening elephant ride through the nearby village was fascinating. We were told that we had more chance of seeing a tiger and other wildlife at Bardia because it was that much further away than Chitwan, but having done both, I would disagree with that because the bush is much thicker, which means the jeeps have to stay on the track. We did hear a tiger roaring and quietly waited by the river side as it got closer, but unfortunately a family with small children arrived and the noise they made put an end to any chance of a sighting. The highlight of the stay was the game of elephant polo on our last day. Raj thought ahead and provided us with a local sim for our phone in case of any problems, but it was all so well organised that we didn't need it. Raj was always on hand to help and we found him to be reliable and trustworthy, producing everything that was promised!
