Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu (1300m).

Meals included: BB

On the first day of your journey, the representative of the Himalayan trekkers will receive you at the Tribhuvan International Airport and welcome you for the thrilling trek ahead. It will be easy to spot them since they will be holding out a plate with your name on it. Soon you will be transferred to your hotel. Later, your trek guide will come to meet you in the evening. The trek guide will accompany you to dinner where you can resolve your queries and give you some advice on some necessary points that are crucial for a successful trek.

Day 2

Kathmandu Sight-seeing & Climbing Preparation.

Meals included: BB

All the necessary preparations for the trek will be made in Kathmandu on this day. You will be informed about some basic climbing rules and other requirements. If all the preparations are done early, you can spend your day exploring the streets and heritage sites of Kathmandu.

Day 3

A flight to Lukla(2,820 m) & trek to Phakding (2,650m).

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

You will be starting your day early and leave your hotel after an early breakfast or a packed breakfast. Next, we have to board a flight from Kathmandu to reach Lukla. After arriving at Lukla, you will commence the 3 hours trek towards Phakding. The walk will be easy and will offer you some of the most tranquil views of majestic picturesque mountains. You will be lost in the appeal and pureness of the surrounding nature. After a few hours of walking, you will make a halt for the night at Phakding.

Day 4

Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

On crossing the Dudh-Kosi River, you will begin your walk of the day. After treading for a few hours, you will reach the beautiful village of Monjo. Situated in the Valley of Dudh Kosi River, it represents the humble lifestyle of the natives there. After the completion of your formalities at the Sagarmatha National Park’s office, you will resume your journey ahead to reach the village of Jorsale. Making your way through the prosperous pine forest, you will cross Hillary’s suspension bridge. A 4 hours walk from the village, and you will reach the famed Namche Bazaar. The entire trail offers a magnificent view of the Kwande peak and also Kusum Kanguru & Mt. Everest. You will also witness some breathtaking views of some of the celebrated peaks like Lhotse, Nuptse, and Taweche from certain places on this trail.

Day 5

Acclimatization at Namche.

The day will be dedicated solely to relaxation and acclimatization before you move onto the higher altitudes. Namche Bazar is a perfect stop for relaxation; the town of the Sherpas will offer you an array of opportunities for sightseeing and collecting souvenirs. It is the trading hub with traders from Tibet and various parts of the country selling their products. Also, the place is dotted with many cafes, cake shops, souvenir shops, etc. Thus, you can spend a happening time in Namche Bazaar.

Trek to Tengboche (3867m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

Post breakfast, you will start your journey towards Tengboche, a mesmerizing Khumjung village having the largest gompa (gumba). The breathtaking trail is in continues from above Dudh Kosi. From here onwards, the stunning view of the mountains like the Mt Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Lhotse in the Khumbu region can be observed. You will then trek through settlements that reflect the culture of the place and small tea shops that look like a place on the pages of fables. Next, you will make a halt at Phunki Tenga for lunch. After lunch and relaxation, you will walk towards a steep climb of 3 hours to Tengboche. After further climbing, you will finally reach Tengboche where you can witness gorgeous views of the Himalayas.

Day 7

Trek to Pheriche (4252m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

You will start your day with breakfast and then descend towards the Imja River and slowly climb towards the beautiful village of Pangboche. A tributary of Dudh Kosi River, Imja Khola gets its water from Imja Glacier. After you reach the lovely mountain village, you can see the magnificent Ama Dablam standing majestically in front of Pangboche and enjoy an exceptional view of the mountains. You will move ahead, a couple of hours' walk from the village and finally find yourself in the Pheriche village. This is where you will halt for an overnight stay and sink ourselves in the beauty of nature.

Day 8

Trek to Lobuche (4930m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

On this day, you will cross green wide valley overlooked by the extraordinary peaks of Cholatse and Tawache. When you turn right, you will move towards a steep climb to reach towards the foot of the Khumbu Glacier. The quaint teahouse at Duglha will be an amazing stop for lunch. Then, continue on a zigzag trail that will take you through the glacier's terminal moraine. When we reach the top of our climb, you will find many stone cairns which have been constructed as memorials to the brave Sherpas who died while climbing to conquer the mighty Mt Everest. The path ascends along the glacier and you will notice many little houses at Lobuche. The entire trail will be covered in approximately 4-5 hours.

Day 9

Trek to Gorak Shep - Everest Base Camp (5357m)- Lobuche.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

It is the day you have been waiting for since the beginning of your trip. The day will start early since you will have to cover a long trail which will stretch over 8-9 hours. you will tread through ice pinnacles and get pass the openings of the picturesque Khumbu Glacier. On the return, you may opt for another route to witness some of the extravagant views of Khumbu icefall and the entire road to the South Col. Towards the end of the trek; you will either go back to the Gorak Shep or Lobuche.

Day 10

Trek Down to Dingboche (4410m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

It will take you 4-5 hours on this trail, as you descend to Dingboche and follow the lead of terminal moraine of the spectacular glacier.

Day 11

Trek to Pokalde Base Camp (5400m)

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

As you proceed towards the base camp, you will enjoy the beauty of green meadows and solid stone-walled fields that line the scenic trail of Imja Khola valley. Next, by hiking the Lhotse towers on our left and Amadablam that is situated at the right, you will slowly reach Bibre. This is the place where you will catch a clear and tempting glimpse of the Island Peak (Imja Tse), the ultimate destination for beginner climbers to try their mettle. The serenity of the place will make you want to stay more. Further, you will enjoy the hike up the scenic slopes and rocky trail to reach the base camp that is situated on the green large alpine plain beside the tranquil lakes.

Day 12

Pokalde peak Summit (5806m) & return to base camp.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

The 12th day will start quite early in the morning. you will be done with your breakfast by 3 a.m. and immediately start from the base camp. Now, you will climb a rocky pass and chase picturesque snow ridge after leaving behind the uneven pinnacles. While following the ridge, you will come across a climb which may be tough for amateurs that will comprise of damaged rocks, uneven trails and snow to reach the summit ridge. Finally, all your hard work will pay-off when you ultimately reach the summit. Once reaching the summit, you will be enclosed by picture-perfect snow pinnacles of some of the earth’s highest mountains. A beguiling view that will be forever etched in your heart, embrace the miracles of nature and spend some time with yourself in the midst of magical nature. Furthermore, the trail will offer you ample opportunities to satisfy the photographer in you. After spending some time photographing or exploring, you will retrace your trail to the base camp. At the base camp, you will be treated with a warm meal and drinks.

Day 13

Extra Day.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

This day will be considered as an extra day, which will turn as a contingency in case of any unfavorable circumstances that will have the potential to be a hindrance to peak climbing.

Day 14

Trek to Tengboche (3870m).

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

The return trek for the day stretches another 5-6 hours or more. you will be fortunate enough to have amazing views on your trail through the alpine valley. You will cross the Khumbu Khola and ascend a steep trail to reach the top of a small ridge where you can enjoy beautiful views of Kangtega, Amadablam and Imja valley. After walking away from Pangboche, you will steadily make your way through a mesmerizing forest of rhododendron, juniper as well as fir and with a gradual climb through the forest to reach Tengboche. During the spring season, you can totally feel the beauty of the magical rhododendron flowers.

Day 15

Trek to Namche.

Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

On this day, you will start your journey to Dudh Kosi and cross a bridge, then pass through lush pine trees and ultimately reach Thasinga. Still, you will get to see the Thamserku and Kangtega. Next, The trail continues above the valley and moves through nature’s beauty Sanasa. At Kyangjuma, you will eventually reach Namche from Tengboche.

Day 16

Namche Bazaar-Lukla (2,800m)

Your way back to Lukla will lead you through a steep rocky trail in the terrain and cross several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River. The bridges serve as a pass-through for beautiful rhododendron and pine forest, dreamlike Sherpa villages and finally take you the trails to arrive at Lukla. The entire trail stretches over 7-8 hours by walk.

Day 17

Fly back to Kathmandu.

You will enjoy your breakfast at Kathmandu since you will be boarding an early flight from Lukla. You will get the whole afternoon to relax, explore the locality and collect souvenirs for your home.

Day 18

Depart from Kathmandu.

On reaching Katmandu you may extend your trip if you wish to experience more of the rich beauty of Nepal and travel various parts of Nepal or head back home with fond memories of the trek.

Generally, in cities like Kathmandu, Lukla, Phakding, and Namche Bazar, we try to arrange basic three-star facilities. If available, you can opt for a more budget-friendly option or upgrade to a more luxurious hotel by paying a little extra. 

Although all the places might not have all the modern facilities, we will make sure to arrange safe and comfortable accommodation. In general, hygienic and safe tea houses/local lodges/ home-stays with all the basic facilities are arranged. But you can, if possible, personalize according to your preference. 


Breakfast is usually included with your B&B Accommodation within the cost that is evident. For other meals in the city, you would have to pay separately. Often in the cities, you can choose from many different cuisines and varied food services. We can always help you find the right place. 

In more remote areas, usually, there are not many options. But you can always find hygienic and well-prepared food. Moreover, almost all the meals during the trek are included in the cost. We can help you make changes according to your preference and budget, but only if choices are available!

Is there an age limit to participate on the trek?

There is no exact age limit. What matters more is the physical capacity of the travelers.

What kind of weather should I expect?

The best season for Everest Base Camp with Pokalde Peak climbing is considered to be spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) which are relatively moderate seasons in Nepal. But high altitude can be quite chilly in the evening, but the cold probably will not be very extreme. 

Do they accept currencies of other countries?

Only Nepalese currency is accepted by the locals. There are many ATMs and money exchange services if you happen to need one. 

Is the trek and climb very difficult?

The overall trip is considered moderate, however, it does comprise a lot of walking and some climbing up and rugged trail. So you would require to be physically fit. Technical climbing knowledge is not necessary but would be better if you have some.

Is there a chance of getting altitude sickness?

The overall trek and climb are done gradually while spending enough time to acclimatize to avoid mishaps. Altitude sickness is highly uncomon.

Do I have to return the gear provided by Himalayan Trekkers?

Yes, the gear provided by us needs to be returned to the Himalayan Trekkers representative in the end after you return from the trek. 

Is tipping common?

Tipping is up to you. You provide tips if you feel like they have served you well.

What language will the guide speak?

The guide will lead you in fluent English. If you prefer some other language, we can arrange for that but you would have to pay a little extra for that.

How to I handle my luggage on the trek?

Porters who often carry 20kg (10kg from each person) will help you with your luggage. We suggest you carry a small backpack with all the immediate necessities.

How do I extend my trip to other places?
