Spring & Autumn
Bumthang Cultural Trek is the best spot to explore many temples and monasteries. This is the cultural heartland of the Kingdom. Bumthang is extraordinarily beautiful, not only for foreigners but even for Bhutanese. Its four high valleys are covered in forests. It embraces small monasteries, Chorten, traditional stone houses, and markets.
The elevation level during this trek stays below 12,000 feet. Not to mention, each day’s walk is steady, fast, and unhurried.
Jakar is another name for Bumthang valley. Not to mention, this is Bhutan‘s one of the most sacred valley. There is a belief of hallowed 1,200 years ago by the visits of Padmasambhava. Padmasambhava is the great Buddhist master also called Guru Rinpoche. People believe that he brought Buddhist Culture in Bhutan so he is the Precious Teacher for all the Bhutanese people who follow Buddhism.
This amazing trek will take you through forests and farmlands. Moreover, it takes you over trout streams to remote villages in which the rest of the world’s last couple of centuries are dim and not particularly enticing rumors. Few treks offer such a deep look into Bhutan’s delicate and charming daily life.
(Note: Our fall itinerary coincides with a centuries-old festival in a remote village where you will be welcomed as honored guests.)
