It is also known as the country of Thunder Dragon. Bhutan was previously a virgin land for the tourists. It opened its gate for tourists only in the year 1974. But with the condition that a tourist must pay a minimum daily fee of USD250 per person. On every part, there is at least one Monastery in Bhutan. And every monastery has its own unique features.  This is a short 5 days trip to the beautiful country, Bhutan.

At first, you land at Paro International Airport. This is the only airport in Bhutan. From Paro, you are driven to Thimpu, which is the capital city of this country. You stay overnight on the day of arrival at Thimpu and go sightseeing the next day. During the sightseeing, you will be taken to Cheri Monastery in the morning, to the National Takin Reserve after lunch, the School of Thirteen Arts and Crafts, and to the National Textile Museum.

The next day, you will be driven to Paro, where you will visit Rinpung Dzong, National Museum, Kyichi Lhakhang, Drugyel Dzong, and Farmhouse. The next day you visit the most fascinating monastery in Bhutan, the Tiger Nest’s Monastery. The Bhutanese name of this monastery is Paro Taktsang. It is located on a cliffside. There is a belief that Guru Padmasambhava had meditated in this monastery. Thus, it has its own value among the Bhutanese people.

Additionally, the way it is uniquely located on the side of the cliff will attract you so very much. Bhutan is a very eco-friendly country, as it is preserved by the people and the government. On the final day of travel in Bhutan, you get to hike to one of Bhutan’s most adventurous locations, the Taktsang Monastery. It is a pure adrenaline pumping journey. Situated 300 meters above Paro, the blissful opening is surely beguiling. The trail is filled with steep slopes and deep gorges while the path traverses through the dense tree line of pines. The openings at periodic turns bring out the bewildering beauty of the Taktsang Monastery sitting at the edge of a cliff. Though you will follow a well-marked trail, the uneven landings and abundance of rocks and boulders add to the ecstatic thrill of the journey. Along the whole hike, there are three viewpoints that let you witness the supreme sight of the monastery from distance. A total of 4 hours of strenuous and tiring hike leads you to the serene setting of the Tiger’s Nest and from where you can have captivating views of the entirety of the Paro valley.

Though this architectural magnificence was built in the 17th century, it was destroyed by a fire in the year of 1998. Guru Rimpoche who is the known founder of a tantric form of Buddhism visited this place back in the 8th century. Later in 2003, the striking monastery was rebuilt and is now considered one of the 10 holiest monasteries of the Buddhist World. You can pay a visit to three distinguished temples in this thriving complex. It’s just not the monastery that is stupendous, the setting of the region surrounding the monastery is equally encompassing. We can also provide riding ponies on request to make your journey better.
