Gosaikunda (lake) or sometimes spelled as "GosainKunda" is an alpine freshwater lake located at Lantang National Park covering an area of around 34 acres. It is the sacred lake of the Langtang region and has been mentioned in various scriptures, thus - a famed pilgrimage site for both the Hindus and Buddhist followers. Hindu devotees believe that taking a dip into this lake will purify sins.
Gosaikunda Short Trek trail passes through various jagged forests, lakes, & rivers. Walking alongside the mesmerizing surroundings, one can observe varied landscapes as well as pine, bamboo and rhododendron trees.
One will also be definitely awestruck by the views of the mountains such as mount Dorjee Lakpa, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, and other mesmerizing lakes such as Suryakunda, Bhairabkunda, & Nagkunda.
The main highlight of this short trek of 8 days, the Gosaikunda Lake is at an altitude of 4,380 meters and provides visitors an ample opportunity to explore this new place as well as have a new yet beautiful experience.
