Time to go there... they need you!

We are just coming back from Nepal and it was an incredible experience. Our guide from Adventure Mission Nepal, Madhav, was wonderful. It's the first time that we have a guide who shared the meals with us, generally they stay amongst themselves (tour guides/drivers). We visited several beautiful places in Kathmandu, and, yes, not all the monuments have been destroyed by the earthquakes. So, there is plenty to visit. However, some other areas have been badly damaged and they NEED the tourists to support the reconstruction. Moreover, they are very nice people. Even though a lot of them lost their house, and basically lost everything, they are still smiling to you and you feel welcome (actually, they are not asking for tips every five minutes like in India...). We distributed some dental supplies in some poor villages and the kids were so happy. Really, we visited many countries and a few of them touched our heart like Nepal. Please, please, just go there, make an extra trip of a few days before or after you visit the Taj Mahal or the Great Wall... For Nepal, tourism is a question of survival.
