Yala Peak Climbing - 16 Days (5725m.)
Yala peak is one of the interesting and moderate types of peak for climbing. It is situated at the north side of the Kathmandu valley in the stunning Langtang Valley area. It lies at the altitude of 5500 m and does not need an experienced training to climb. It is one of the moderate, adventurous, idealistic and amazing peaks to climb in Nepal. Yala Peak is one of the fabulous and renowned peaks in Langtang area. There are more than two way to reach Yala. The most renowned and easiest trail is starting from Syabru Besi. Syabru Besi is approximately 9 hours scenic drive from Kathmandu. After five days of trekking upwards you will reach to Kyangjin Gompa at the height of 3800 m through Langtang valley. Kyangjin Gompa lies just underneath of Langtang Lirung (7246 m) and we can see the stunning scenery of nature and Himalayan range with stream and rivers. Kyangjin Gompa is very unique and fascinating place in itself. Here you can see the Cheese factory which was established by Swiss Association for Technical Assistance in 1955. Langtang trek and climbing Yala Peak gives the golden opportunity to see the Buddhist Monastery and can learn about the common sense of Tibetan Buddhist Culture. We set our tented camp on an open field at 4800 m and next day we ascend to Yala Peak. While trekking last approximately 700 m of walking is on icy land so we have to use materials like ice axe, crampons as well as rope. And from the top you can view the magnificent Sishapangma (80460m) and Gangchempo (6388 m). After having a magnificent trekking at Yala Peak we come back to Syabru Besi and Kathmandu via driving.
