Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Arrive at Kathmandu after a scenic flight over the mountains. Meet the representative of Adventure Mission Nepal Treks & Expedition (AMN) and transfer to Hotel.
Day 02: explore the city and prepare for the trek.
You can spend this day exploring some of the World heritage sites in Kathmandu valley for some time and prepare for the trek in the afternoon.
Day 03: Afternoon flights to Biratnagar
We will take an hour of flight towards Biratnagar in the afternoon. Biratnagar is one of the biggest cities in the eastern development region. After arriving at Biratnagar we will explore the city and prepare for the trek that starts tomorrow.
Day 04: Flight to Suketar, trek to Lali Kharka [2220m]
After breakfast we will take a half an hour flight to Suketar. Upon arriving at the Suketar airport we will meet the trekking crew and head towards Lali Kharka for overnight stay.
Day 05: Trek to Keshwa [2100m]
After breakfast we will walk through small settlements and terraced farms and cross a bridge over the Phawa River. Couple of hours from the bridge we will walk to Kunjari and stop for lunch and a brief rest. After lunch and rest we will walk past the villages of Tambala and Bhanjyang. We can have a excellent view of sunset over Kanchenjunga from Bhanjyang. Overnight at Keshwa.
Day 06: Trek to Mamanke [2000m]
We will follow the trail along the Nandeva River today after breakfast. After walking past a dense forest and the village of Loppoding will reach the right bank of the Kabeli River where will take a short break before heading towards the village of Anpan .From here we will ascend towards Ponpe Dhara. After couple of hours of walk from Ponpe Dhara we will reach Mamanke for overnight camping.
Day 07: Trek to Yamphudin [1650m]
We have a short walk compared to the other days of the trek. We will do the overnight camping at Yamphudin. After walking through terraced farms and small villages with few tea houses we will reach Yamphudin in 5 hours.
Day 08: Trek to Lamite Jungle camp [2920m]
After breakfast in Yamphudin, we start ascending the steep spur and again descend to cross the Omje River. Walking through a beautiful and dense forest, we stop for lunch in a meadow atop this spur, which commands fine views of the valley beyond Yamphudin to the south and of the Omje Khola Valley and Deurali Danda to the north. A steep descent to the river brings us to our campsite in a clearing in the Lamite forest.
Day 09: Trek to Torontan [3080m]
We will continuously ascend for 3 hours through a dense forest to top of Deurali Danda (hill) after breakfast. As soon as we reach the top of the hill Mt Jannu is seen welcoming you hearlty. After crossing the pass, we descend across some fairly steep and exposed scree slopes before re-entering the forest, where we will stop for lunch. After lunch, a steep descent takes us down into the valley of the Simbua River and after crossing an interesting wooden bridge, we arrive at Torontan. This campsite lies amongst the towering fir trees of what is now a mainly coniferous alpine forest.
Day 10: Trek to Tseram [3750m]
We will start walking along the right bank of the Simbua River and walk past the pine and rhododendron forests. The trail is fairly steep and, as the day progresses, the trees become sparser and more stunted, giving us glimpses of the snow-capped giants ahead and of the massive snout of the Yalung Glacier. Just before Tseram, the towering heights of Kabru and Rathong peep over the moraine. We camp at Tseram, where night-time temperature plummets, reminding us that we are really gaining height.
Day 11: Trek to Ramche [4360m]
Today the walk lasts for around 4 hours before we reach Ramche. We will ascend past the snout of the Yalung Glacier, a frozen lake, numerous streams and excellent view of the peaks like Kokthan, Rathong and Kabru. Overnight at Ramche.
Day 12: Rest day at Ramche.
Today we will take rest and acclimatize at Ramche. You can explore the surrounding area and visit some of the glaciers and
Day 13: Trekking beyond the Mirgin La [4663m]
After breakfast we will walk past the settlement of Lapsang, before turning off towards the Mirgin La - the pass we must cross in order to reach Gunsa and the north side of Kanchenjunga. After a brief rest at Mirgin La pass we will start descending with the excellent view of Mt Jannu, at the backdrop .We will make the campsite in an appropriate place beyond the pass.
Day 14: Trek to Gunsa [3475m]
We will descend further to Lamba Sumba Kharka from where we can get an excellent view of the south west face of Jannu. From Lamba Sumba Kharka we will follow a well defined trail to reach Gunsa, our overnight destination.
Day 15: Trek to Kyapra [2300m]
From Gunsa, our route out of the mountains follows the beautiful Gunsa and Tamur rivers and passes through spectacular forests of rhododendron, conifer, birch and oak. The valley sides here are steep and the trail follows the river as it cascades downwards. We pass through Kyapra, the last of the Tibetan villages, and, an hour or so further on, we camp in the forest at a spot called Tang.
Day 16: Trek to Sakathum [1600m]
Today we will head towards the village of Sakathum for overnight stay. We will reach the village of Amjilasa in couple of hours. Till here the trail is easy but now onwards we start the steep descent for the next 3 hours until we reach Sakathum for overnight.
Day 17: Trek to Chirwa [1180m]
We will start heading towards Chirwa for overnight today. It will be a walk of around 6 hours. Midway in the trek we will see the confluence of two rivers, Simbua and Gunsa at Tamur Kosi. We will follow the trail along the Tamur Koshi and reach the village of Chirwa.
Day 18: Trek to Phurumba
We will start walking towards Phurumba today and stop at Mitlung for we lunch. We will continue further through the zigzag trail with paved stone. It will take us around 4 hours to reach the village of Phurumba from Mitlung.
Day 19: Trek to Taplejung – Suketar [2300m]
We will walk for around 3 hours to reach the Taplejung village. Another couple of hours from Taplejung will take us to the airstrip at Suketar.
Day 20: Fly to Kathmandu via Biratnagar
After breakfast we will take a flight to Biratnagar and then the same day afternoon flight to Biratnagar.
Day 21: Depart Kathmandu to reach another destination or fly back home with memories of the trek.
You can depart from Kathmandu to your home country or extend the trip and head for another trip within or outside Nepal.
