Kali Gandaki River Rafting
Kali Gandaki is renowned after the goddess name "Kali", the female Hindu deity of destruction. This river is considered as Nepal's one of the most sacred holy river. The river starts from the elevated on the Tibetan Plateau, Mustang. It flows down the Himalayas; the river slices the world deepest gorge between giant mountains of 8000 m i.e. Mt Annapurna and Mt. Dhaulagiri. In 1996 it was firstly unlocked as commercial use. The trip starts with the adventurous white waters, panoramic views of mountains and green scenery. While rafting, you can experience the different grades of rapids with narrow rocks and waterfalls with the magnificent view of the Annapurna range. As it is the sacred river in Nepal, you can see many cremation places while rafting. The combination of natural scenery of Annapurna Range, different grades of rapids, waterfalls, narrow passes, huge rocks, typical Nepali style houses and sandy beach will give you the real adventure of rafting in Nepal. Itinerary in Detail
Day 01: After breakfast, we head towards the rafting point near Beni. It takes about 4 hours of drive from Kathmandu. While travelling, you can see the magnificent view of the Annapurna, Dhaulagiri Range, sacred mountain Machhapuchhare (Fishtail) and natural wilderness. After arriving at the rating point, you will be given the safety tips and equipments before rafting at the river. After demo, we have lunch and your rafting guide will take you to the point and your journey begins. Today, you experience the moderate rapids of grade III. On the way you can see the narrow passes and rocks which makes your trip more adventurous. After some hours of rafting you arrive at the Modi Khola. Here at the bank of river you set up the camp for overnight stay.
Day 02: On this day we begin down the Modi Khola for adventurous trip. On the way you will face many obstacles in grade III and grade IV. While heading towards Putri Ghat, you can see the different wildlife, green vegetation, stunning view of Annapurna I and Himchuli. We stop below the village named Putri Ghat and set camp for overnight stay.
Day 03: Today after some hours of rafting we arrive at the sacred village of Seti Beni. Before arriving at Seti Beni you face some rapids of water which splash on your face and you passes from several narrow rocks. And at this point you can see many people watching, listening the holy preaches. After spending some time here we move towards the Andikhola. From here our adventurous journey concludes. And you have two options either you returned back to Kathmandu or extend your trip to Pokhara, Chitwan National Park.
