Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, you will be welcomed by the representative from Adventure Mission Nepal. After check in hotel have rest. At evening welcome dinner with cultural show in typical Nepalese restaurant. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing of UNESCO World Heritage Sites:
After breakfast we have a full day sightseeing of the Kathmandu valley including Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Swoyambhunath. Pashupatinath is one of the sacred Hindu temples in Nepal and is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Boudhanath is also renowned as the little Tibet in Kathmandu. This is a spiritual place with the two eyes of Buddha conveying the message of peace to you. Kathmandu Durbar Square lies in the center of the Kathmandu valley and has some of the most interesting monuments in Nepal. The Kasthamandap, the building from which Kathmandu derived its name, the Kumari Ghar, the House of the Living goddess Kumari, the Taleju temple and the most interesting the Hanuman Dhoka Palace, now a museum are some of the interesting buildings in Kathmandu Durbar Square. Swoyambhunath is also popular as "Monkey temple" situated at the height of Kathmandu valley. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj from Kathmandu:
Today we take our early flight from TIA to Nepalgunj. It is about an hour flight to Nepalgunj, situated at the far western part of Nepal. It is a city which is near to the border of Nepal and India is also the door to Simikot, Humla. It is a Terai belt of Nepal and can experience the varied cultures of Nepal. We explore the local villages, market and zoo in Nepalgunj. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day 04: Fly to Simikot (2,985m) and Trek to Dharapori (2,360m)
Today we take early flight of about 40 minutes to Simikot from Nepalgunj. From flight we can see the panoramic view of the gigantic mountains. Simikot is the headquarters of the Humla district. Here, we can experience the hospitality of the local people, culture and traditions as well as life style of the people. The culture of the people of here is quite similar to the Tibetans because of the proximity the places. And here we have our lunch and climb up and after some hours of ascends we come downwards to the Tuling village. From here, we move towards Dharapani all along Karnali River throughout settlements and dense forests. We stay overnight at Dharapani.
Day 05: Trek to Salli Khola (2,700m)
Today we walk on a flat route till we arrive at Kermi. From Karmi we go to the Humla Karnali Basin. We can find two hot springs of water near Kermi. Here we can spend some time by dipping our body on the hot water to relieve from pain and aching. When we pass throughout the Kermi village we go into the wide valley which provides a passage to the thin pines. After that we pass Salli La pass (2,990 m) and moves downwards to Salli Khola where we stay overnight.
Day 06: Trek to Muchu (3,120m)
After breakfast we continue our journey and at Salli Kholla we cross suspension bridge and heads towards the flat surface to arrive village named Yalbang. Here Monks from the Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery will welcome us. We can experience the lifestyle of the Monks here. After that we move from above of the Karnal River. When we ascend upwards the less we see plants. When we cross the Karnali Suspension Bridge, we arrive at Muchu. We stay overnight at Muchu.
Day 07: Trek to Sipsip (4300m)
We heads from the check post of Muchu to tumkot. We descend down and from where we can see the superb view of Dhungkar Choezam Monastery up of the hill. When we depart from the Karnali River we trek to the higher elevation to reach at Yari. Here also we go through the check post of police and reach to the barren lands. While moving we can see the stunning view of gigantic Erega Mountain and the superb view of the Thado Dhunga (4,043 m). we stay overnight at Sip Sip.
Day 08: Trek to Hilsa (3,720m)
Today after breakfast we climb up to the Nara La Pass and get pleasure from the magnificent Tibetan Plateau. While coming down from this point we can see the small settlement of Ranipauwa Village. After some hours of descending we will reach at the Humla Karnali River which is the way to Hilsa. Hilsa is the border on the side of Nepal on the Nepal-Tibet border and also a falling point for the devotees on their way to Mt. Kailash by Heli. We stay overnight at Hilsa.
Day 09: Trek to Tritapuri (4,560m)
Today we cross the border of Nepal-China and arrive at Taklakot. Taklakot is a trading city on the border of Tibetan side. After that we arrive to the Talakot's customs office by driving. We can see the prehistoric Purang Gompa and can visit the exclusive Buddhist frescoes of IIX century on the way to Tritapuri. We stay overnight at Tritapuri.
Day 10: Explore Garuda Valley, and then move to Darchen (4,560m)
Today we explore the Garuda Valley which is situated to the southwest part of Mt. Kailash. Here we can find the strange caves which have never been visited. It is one of the resource of the old kingdom of Shangshung. Shangshung is an untimely Tibetan society with bust caves and cities in the valley. For the historical and archeological lover this valley gives superb exploration. From here, we move back to Manosarovar. We stay overnight at Darchen.
Day 11: Trek to Dira Puk Monasteries (5120m)
From today we start our visit of Mt. Kailash. The initial day of Darchen is about 6 hours of walk in the bottomless valley all the way through the red rock walls. We walk to the Shershong and pass a bridge which lead to Chhuku Gompa high which can be seen from the valley. The route heads to Dirapuk from where we can see the panoramic view of the northern side of Mt. Kailash. We stay overnight at Dirapuk.
Day 12: Trek to North Face of Kailash
Today is the second day and we ascend up to the northern face of Mt. Kailash. While walking we can see the beauty of Mt. Kailash with the natural scenery as if it is a paradise of the world. It is an memorable experience throughout your life to come face to face with Kailash.
Day13: Trek to Dzutul-puk (4790m)
Today is the third day and most difficult day of our trip. Today we ascend to the Drolma-La pass at an height of 5,750 m. Literal meaning of Pass is magnificent and is fulfilled with five different colored praying flags. From this pass we come down to Dzutul-Puk. At Dzutul-Puk, we arrive to the ubelievable Lake of Compassion called Thugje Zinbu and very few in numbers antique pondering caves. We stay overnight at Dzutul-Puk.
Day 14: Trek to Darchen (4,560m) and move to Manosarovar
We walk out of the valley to the Barka. After finishing the sacred worship of Mt. Kailash, we move to Manosarovar Lake by 2 hours of driving. The Manosarovar has sacred implication for Hindus and Buddhists religions. As Hindu mythology, Manosarovar Lake is an epitome of transparency and those who drink water from this Lake will go to the heaven of Lord Shiva after their death. Buddhists also consider this Lake as the Legendary Lake called Anavatapta in Sanskrit where Queen Maya Devi is supposed to have visualized Buddha.
Day 15: Explore around the Manosarovar Lake by Jeep
Today, we explore the magnificent Manosarovar Lake. Manosarovar Lake has a 90 Km of perimeter and is considered as one of the elevated fresh water Lakes in the globe. There is belief system that visit of Mt. Kailash is fulfilled only who drinks the water from the lake and who take a sacred dip in the water. It is also believed that, those who takes the dip on the water will sweeps all the sins of the people even sins of lives of hundreds. After that we take a round of the Manosarovar Lake by driving and explore Chuli Gompa. We stay overnight at Manosarovar.
Day 16: Drive to Saga (4,600m)
Today we visit the Chuli Gompa and complete a long drive to Saga from Manosarovar. We pass through the Hor Quo and Mayum La Pass (5,200 m). while driving we will see the tiny settlements like Paryang and Zhongba. This trip wraps 270 Km to Paryang from Manosarovar. From saga we returned back to Kathmandu rather going to Lhasa. We stay overnight at Saga.
Day 17: Drive to Zangmu (3,750m)
Today we pass Yarlung Tsangpo / Brahmaputra River and arrive at Nyalam. At beginning we pass the Paigu-Tso which is a big lake with Shishapangma Mountain (8,027 m)at its setting. We can also see the world's highest peak Mt. Everest as we heads towards Lalung La Pass (5,124 m). When we cross Tong La Pass (5,120 m) we ultimately arrive at the Zangmu, a border area. We stay overnight at Zangmu.
Day 18: Drive to Kathmandu
Today after breakfast we head towards the check post of the border and arrive at Friendship Bridge. At this point we take leave the Tibetan vehicles and walk about 20 minutes towards Nepal Border. And from Kodari, we drive back to Kathmandu, which takes about 5 hours. Overnight at Hotel of Kathmandu.
Day 19: Depart Kathmandu
Finally, our Kailash tour concludes successfully. Today we exchange your feelings and experience about the trip while we move to the airport for the final departure. Hope to see you again!!
