4 nights / 5 days Bardiya National Park Jungle Safari tour
Bardia lies in the far west of Nepal and is 2 hours drive from the airport at Nepalgunj. The area was designated as a wildlife reserve in 1976; later in 1988 this place got the status of a National park. The national park covers 968 sq.km areas including the Buffer zone. The Bardia National park is habitat of many rare mammals, reptilians and bird species. The most notable are Bengal tiger, one horned Rhino, swamp deer, Gangetic dolphin and many more. The visit to Bardia by Titanic star Leonardo Dicaprio and his commitment to tiger conservation in Bardia has made it more famous in the world recently. Similar to other national parks in Nepal you can do jeep safari, Elephant safari (nowadays in the Tharu village as private elephants are not allowed inside the park), bird watching and canoeing/boating in the Karnali River, the longest river in Nepal.
Itinerary in Detail
Day 01: Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport.
AMN representative will pick you up at the airport and then transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. The office representative will brief you about trip to Bardia and answer your questions and queries if any.
Day 02: Fly to Nepalgunj and drive 2 hours to Bardia.
We take a morning flight to Nepalgunj and the jeep from the hotel will pick you up. On the way we stop at Babai River to see the crocodiles and fish. Upon arrival at Bardia we will have lunch during which the naturalist will brief you on the day’s activity. In the afternoon you will visit the crocodile breeding center and the Tharu village. Tharu cultural program in the evening.
Day 03: Jungle Activities as planned by the Hotel.
Today after breakfast we walk into the forest in search of Bengal tiger. The half day walk in the forest provides opportunity to encounter with many wild animals including the Bengal tiger as Bardia is one of the best places for tiger spotting.
Day 04: Full Day Activities in Bardia National Park including Jungle Safari & Relax
Today you will experience the Elephant back ride, bird watching and canoe/boat ride.
Day 05: Drive back to Nepalgunj and fly to Kathmandu.
We will have breakfast and depending upon your flight schedule, which is usually late afternoon we drive towards the Airport at Nepalgunj. Arrive Kathmandu and rest.
